The “Castle of the Bridge” in the old tongue, Castle Brucken is a strong redoubt that sits atop a steep-sided hill overlooking the town of Bruckenburg. The outer bailey includes a barracks for the sixty-man strong garrison of Bruckenburg Guards. At any given moment, twenty are off duty. Other buildings include a smithy, a stable, an armory, a chapel, and several storehouses. The keep is in the inner bailey.
The Castle has been expanded by generations of Lords Warden, and though it is beginning to show its age, it is well-maintained.
